Thanks to all who joined us for SJWRI Research Day 2019, highlighting the research achievements of the University of Otago's Sir John Walsh Research Institute and Faculty of Dentistry.

Schedule at a glance

The meeting featured keynote presentations from leading local and international researchers, and sessions exploring research in the areas of biomechanics and oral implantology (our featured research area for this year), clinical and translational research, epidemiology and public health, molecular microbiology, craniofacial research, dental education, and oral molecular and immunopathology.

This year's invited keynote speaker was Professor Patrick Schmidlin, who is the head of the Division of Periodontology at the Center of Dental Medicine, University of Zurich, Switzerland.
