Learning Outcomes

Students completing the SOWK 508 will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to analyse, question and reflect on their initial understanding of Pacific Peoples and communities
  2. Attain a critical appreciation of Pacific Peoples and their world views
  3. Identify the diverse issues affecting Pacific Peoples and where they are located within the ecological model
  4. Develop an awareness of ethical and cultural issues involved in working with Pacific Peoples
  5. Critically apply their knowledge to develop an appropriate framework for policy, research or practice in relation to a Pasifika social issue they're most familiar with and which is reflective of their organisational context
