Staffing and Programme Reviews

The School of Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences has undergone significant staffing changes in 2017. We are also undertaking a major curriculum review. The most up-to-date information about this process is provided here.

Important Information for 2018

For 2018, the School will be continuing with business as usual. About 95% of the papers within the BPhEd programme will be offered in 2018 (regrettably a few cannot be offered due to staff changes). Our enrolment process is done through eVision, so there is no separate enrolment process for PE applications.

Current first-, second- and third- year BPhEd students will be able to continue with their programmes and major subjects in 2018.

Information for 2019

We are in the process of reviewing our papers and programmes to create a refreshed curriculum and we hope to have full information about degree structures and major subject requirements available in the first half of 2018. This process takes time, and requires approval both within and outside the University, so details are not definite at this stage.

Will PE School remain open?

Yes! We are very much still open and operating. We are looking forward to a strong future for the School with the anticipated new curriculum, building on the School’s history and traditions of excellence.

Is the PE School taking enrolments for 2018?

Yes. Both current and new students will enrol in the BPhEd and in 2019 can choose whether to continue with the current BPhEd or switch into one of the anticipated new programmes.

Will I be able to switch into the new programmes in 2019?

Yes, students enrolled for BPhEd will have the opportunity to consider switching into one or more of the anticipated new programmes if they wish.
