Background

Ms Marguerita Lázár has been employed by the School of Physical Education since 1999. Marguerita is the coordinator of SPEX 316 Practicum paper, where she oversees students in a variety of applied practical experiences. She is also engaged in PhD research exploring the experiences of participating in a Curvy Yoga Class.

Teaching

Research

Ms Lázár completed an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Education and Psychology, and her Masters of Arts degree was in the area of Sexuality and the Sex Education Curriculum. In addition, she has completed a Diploma in Public Health.

Her current areas of research incorporate the social construction of health and implications this may have on interpreting health statistics and data, Sociology of Health, contemporary theoretical conceptions of the body, The Health at Every Size approach to movement and exercise, and feminist theory. Her PhD study looks at theoretical understanding of diverse bodies and Yoga.
