I am Senior Archaeologist for Southern Pacific Archaeological Research (SPAR). I have worked as an archaeologist since 2006, undertaking both research and consulting projects in New Zealand, Australia and Papua New Guinea. My main areas of expertise are lithic analysis, GIS and archaeological field work, including extensive experience in excavation, survey and site mapping.

I am a microbioarchaeologist with a specialisation in plant microparticle analysis. Most of my work has focused on the extraction and identification of starch granules and phytoliths from dental calculus and sediments in the Pacific. As well as working on projects with SPAR and the Anatomy Department at the University of Otago, I am an affiliate of the Department of Archaeology, Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History in Jena, Germany.
