We hosted the fantastic Rawiri Jansen today who gave a talk to our PUBH304 tauira on the hauora kaupapa Waitangi Tribunal Claim - "a failure (of the Crown) to remedy inequitable Māori health outcomes."

Some great points to take away from the lecture:

- Health inequities are evidence of breaches in the Treaty. They are unjust, they are remediable and they are avoidable.

- We need a Treaty compliant health system, then we would not have these current inequities. But inequities are CHANGEABLE.

- We must challenge the racist discourse in our health system.

- To achieve equity for Māori now and in the future "we need to get busy now."
