Graduation brunch
A brunch will be hosted by the University of Otago, which is open to all graduates and their families. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with your family, friends, and the University.
- When the procession begins at 11:30am, the brunch will be held from 9:30am-11:00am (May and December)
- When the procession begins at 1:30pm, the brunch will be held from 11:30am-1:00pm (August)
As it is not always possible to hold the Brunch in the same venue, you will be advised where the Brunch will be held approximately 6 weeks prior to your graduation ceremony.
Thanksgiving service
A Thanksgiving service is held on each graduation ceremony date, all graduands and their families are invited to attend.
Further information will be made available to you approximately 6 weeks prior to your graduation ceremony.
The Graduation procession
Please note that the Graduation procession assembly point and route for 21 May 2022 differs from the usual route due to road works.
The OUSA organises an informal procession along George Street prior to the ceremony. This is voluntary, but it is a great opportunity to walk along the middle of the main street of Dunedin and be acknowledged by your friends and family.
There will be one procession, beginning at 11:30am, on 21 May 2022 for both the 1:00pm and 4:00pm ceremonies.
Please assemble outside the Fix Café at 15 Frederick Street by 11:15am.
Due to road works there will be a deviation from the normal route; instead of proceeding directly down George Street to Moray Place, the procession will travel from George Street to Moray Place via St Andrew Street and Filleul Street.
