A brunch will be hosted by the University of Otago, which is open to all graduates and their families. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with your family, friends, and the University.
- When the procession begins at 11:30am, the brunch will be held from 9:30am-11:00am (May & December)
- When the procession begins at 1:30pm, the brunch will be held from 11:30am-1:00pm (August)
As it is not always possible to hold the Brunch in the same venue, you will be advised where the Brunch will be held approximately 6 weeks prior to your graduation ceremony.
A Thanksgiving Service is held on each graduation ceremony date, all graduands and their families are invited to attend.

The Graduation procession
The OUSA organises an informal procession along George Street prior to the ceremony. This is voluntary, but it is a great opportunity to walk along the middle of the main street of Dunedin and be acknowledged by your friends and family.
Please assemble outside the School of Dentistry 15 minutes prior to the departure of the procession.
On days where two ceremonies are being held, there will be only one procession:
- If your ceremony begins at either 1:00pm or 4:00pm, the procession will depart at 11:30am (May & December)
- If your ceremony beings at 3:00pm, the procession will depart at 1:30pm (August)
All of our graduation ceremonies are streamed in real (NZ) time, commencing approximately 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
An official photograph will be taken by McRobie Photographics Ltd as you receive your degree or diploma.
Photographs will be available for purchase immediately after the ceremony from the Municipal Chambers (access is via the Glenroy Auditorium entrance located on Harrop Street). Or on the day following your graduation from McRobie Studios at 89 Bond Street, between 10:00am and 1:00pm. Thereafter, normal shop hours or view online, or inquire by email or phone - see contact details below.
'On-the-Spot' graduate portraiture
Quick, easy, and affordable portrait sessions will be available on graduation day, between 9:00am and 6:00pm in the Glenroy Auditorium (entrance is located on Harrop Street).
Bookings are not required, sessions are 5-10 minutes in duration. Prices start from $90 per session including photos.

Electronic copy of a Graduation ceremony
An electronic copy of each graduation ceremony will be available for purchase for $10 plus postage.
