Established in 1990 by the estate of P.M. Bruggeman for the purpose of encouraging research in Latin, Ancient Greek, or Classical Studies at the University of Otago.
The Scholarship may be held only by a student in the Classics Programme, except that periods of study at other institutions in New Zealand or overseas may be approved by the Head of the Classics Programme.
Applicants must be :
- obtaining their first Master's or Doctoral qualification
- domestic students
- undertaking research in the field of Classics
Selection is based predominantly on academic merit and the applicant’s potential for research.
