Information

The HOPE Foundation is a registered charitable trust established in 1996 to assist the funding of research and education essential to the health and welfare of older people in New Zealand.

The Foundation's vision is to see a cadre of research scientists in a variety of disciplines such as the social sciences, business and economics, architecture and planning, and health, committed to performing essential research that will add to the information base the country needs.

It proposes to enable this vision by facilitating the training of research workers through the provision of research training scholarships. We believe that once people who wish to make a career in research are encouraged to take an interest in some ageing-related discipline, there is a strong possibility that they will continue in that area for the remainder of their careers.

Applicants must be:

  • currently enrolled at their host university
  • undertaking a masters or doctorate
