Study the Science of Religion at Otago

The Science of Religion minor will equip you with an understanding of the scientific methods used in the study of religion, and the wider social sciences.

This is a fast-growing area of study worldwide. The minor at Otago combines papers with a focus on scientific approaches to human psychology and human behaviour with Religion Programme papers.

Learn about scientific methodologies, and how to define clear and testable hypotheses. Explore experimental, cross-cultural and survey-based research design. Discover how these scientific methods can be used to examine explanations for religious belief and behaviour.
