Preparatory Courses

IntroChem - Introductory Chemistry

Introductory Chemistry is a not-for-credit, distance-taught course intended for students with limited chemistry backgrounds. An understanding of the material covered in the course will provide a basis for tertiary chemistry study. Students can enroll for Introductory Chemistry at any time during the year and can take as long as they need to complete the course and the course does not require students to come to the University of Otago campus. This flexibility makes the course suitable for those who have work or other commitments.

This course does not qualify for entitlement to government student loans or allowances nor can it be used as part of a University degree.

JumpSTART Physics

JumpSTART Physics is an intensive and interactive Summer School course designed to provide students with the background knowledge and study skills necessary to undertake the paper PHSI 191 Biological Physics confidently (PHSI 191 is part of the Health Sciences First Year course). JumpSTART Physics is a full-time course over three weeks which cannot be taken concurrent with another Continuing Education/Summer School paper.

This course does not qualify for entitlement to government student loans or allowances nor can it be used as part of a University degree.
