In this update for the University of Otago Support Services Review project there is information about upcoming and current vacancies, and a project activity update.

On the approval of the Business Plan work commenced immediately to start implementing the structure to support the shared services model. As outlined, the approach has been to fill positions top-down within each function. This includes Finance, IT, External Engagement, HR, Administration and Academic Services. Significant progress has been made and you will have seen various roles being advertised, with many more to come next year.
The other important area of work underway has been the confirmation of staff whose roles will remain unchanged, or will change in only a minor way. Again, significant progress has been made and this work will continue as managers are appointed, and we are able to work with them to map more positions to the new structure.
Change Manager, Carolyn King is managing the voluntary redundancy process and we have so far received over 90 applications. We are currently working with applicants to finalise end dates and/or to confirm transition arrangements. We are confident that the volume of voluntary redundancies will significantly mitigate the number of forced redundancies next year.
New organisational charts will be published early next year on the SSR website. Only information relating to confirmed structures will be published, positions that are still subject to consultation will not be.
The first tranche of recruitment will result in appointments at Director and Manager level. The intended recruitment activity for the coming months is as follow:
