With the help of the Otago University Surveying Student's Association (OUSSA), $5000 has been pledged to repair Surveyor Charles Kettle's grave in Dunedin's Southern Cemetery.

The OUSSA recently hosted a quiz night to help raise funds for the restoration of the grave site.  An article by John Gibb appearing in the 31 July edition of the Otago Daily Times reported that the OUSSA raised about $1500 towards the project, while members of the Coastal Otago branch of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors contributed a further $400.   Here is a link to the article.

The story was also covered on the 31 July news programme on Dunedin Television.  Here is a link to the news item.

Refer to two earlier articles by John Gibb published in the Otago Daily Times for additional coverage of the story.
