Emily was awarded the inaugural Survey and Spatial NZ Hydrography Professional Award 2021. Each of the Professional Streams of S+SNZ – Cadastral, Land Development and Urban Design, Spatial, Engineering, Hydrography and Positioning and Measurement – nominated members for these new awards that recognise service to the profession.

Emily said, “It was a wonderful surprise to be presented this award, and fantastic to have all the voluntary time spent supporting hydrography – alongside many other special hydrographers – in NZ recognised.”

She thanked nominating members of the Hydrography Professional Stream (HPS), as well as her current colleagues and students from Otago, and her family for their support over the years.
