Tēnei tātou te koronga
The phrase Te Koronga is borrowed from the opening stanza of a karakia from the ancient whare wānanga Te Rawheoro used to induct students into the higher schools of learning. Te Koronga refers to the yearning for esoteric knowledge for the betterment of our world.

Whakamārama o te pikitia / Description of the logo
"Puhoro represent the flow of life and connects all of the elements together."
Keanu Townsend (Ngāti Whātua, Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Kahu o Whangaroa) designed the Te Koronga logo. Keanu is a rangatahi (youth) Māori designer, sailor, tā moko artist and teacher.
This design embodies kaitiakitanga, Matariki, knowledge of the sky, astronomy and navigation. The mountaintops signify striving for success and reaching the summit, which also represent the three baskets of knowledge. The manaia represents guardianship of the elements for next generations. The fish scales represent the ocean. The harakeke represents the land and the unity of different iwi.
