Supporting Māori academic excellence at Otago

Ko wai mātou? | Who are we?

Māori academic staff from across the University of Otago's campuses and divisions have come together to form Te Poutama Māori. Together as a tertiary institution, Te Poutama Māori aspires to contribute towards creating a culturally stimulating environment for Māori academics at Otago.

Te Poutama Māori is one of several lead Māori academic voices at Otago. We offer considered thinking from a cross-divisional Māori academic perspective for Māori academic excellence to be realised and recognised.

Te Poutama Māori supports and seeks further strategic action to give effect to the University of Otago's Māori Strategic Framework across all four goals. Te Poutama Māori celebrates the success of Otago's Māori academics. We invite you to share in our journey - nau mai, haere mai, tauiti mai!.
