Future of Fairness: 22/23 March 2011

Emerging technologies pose a fundamental challenge to our very ideas of equality and fairness, from the sporting arena to the genetics laboratory, to our future generations.

Proudly brought to you by the New Zealand Law Foundation’s Centre for Law and Policy in Emerging Technologies and Genetics Otago, the Future of Fairness series will be examining the concept of what is fair in society today.

The series kicks off with its inaugural symposium on Tuesday the 22nd and Wednesday the 23rd of March, featuring an outstanding line up of local and internationally renowned researchers.

The public lecture on Tuesday the 22nd will feature three keynote speakers from the symposium: Prof Andy Miah, Prof Ronald Green and Assoc Prof David Gerrard.

Overall, it will consider whether we are drawing lines in the right places – or indeed, are we right to draw lines at all?
