The role of Kaiawhina (sub wardens) within the Toroa community is pivotal. At Toroa we place a strong emphasis on providing a support team that is dedicated, professional and motivated. We like to think that although our team is small, they are extremely motivated and highly professional. With a big vision and a strong passion for Toroa our focus remains on our residents.
Kaiawhina are the most visible peer role models and community leaders that our residents have the chance to regularly interact with during their first year at University. Supportive, friendly and knowledgable our Kaiawhina are a link to people and resources both within the University and the wider community.
Kaiawhina at Toroa share their experiences with residents to help them as they navigate and adjust to University and College life. Dynamic and committed, they definitely add value to the Toroa experience.
