The PGDipCom in Tourism programme is designed for students who have graduated with a Bachelor's degree - not incorporating Honours - in Tourism or a related discipline.
This programme:
- Can be completed over two semesters by a full-time student or a longer period by a part-time student
- Requires the completion of 8 taught papers which are delivered via a variety of lectures, seminars, tutorials, and fieldtrips
- Enables students to further specialise in tourism and related areas of study
- Can act as a bridge between undergraduate study and the MTour
There is no independent supervised research (i.e. dissertation) component to the PGDipCom in Tourism.

Information for PGDipCom in Tourism applicants
Bachelor degrees in Tourism or a related area. Applicants overall grade from their degree should normally be a B (70%) or higher.
Applicants must meet the University postgraduate English language requirements, if their first language is not English. This must be organised prior to enrolling in the programme, though not necessarily at the time of application to the programme.

Programme requirements for the PGDipCom in Tourism
A full-time student can complete this programme in two semesters. This programme aims to provide an advanced level of understanding of tourism and related areas at a graduate level.
The courses consists of 120 points in 2013 and can be taken on a part-time or full-time basis. All papers are worth 20 points.
Students wishing to transfer to the MTour programme should enrol in Tourism Methodology and Tourism Methods and Analysis as both papers are requirements of the MTour. Transfer to this programme is dependent on the level of a student's performance in the PgDipCom.
