New students will attend Pathway and ELC Academic Orientation, a compulsory introduction to Pathway (Te Huarahi) and English Language Centre (Te Puna o te Kī) programmes.

Information sessions are held on-campus and topics include academic procedures, where to access help and support, study and course advice, health and wellbeing, and more.

Upon enrolment, extra information and the Pathway and ELC Academic Orientation schedule will be emailed to you.

The schedule includes:

  • Official welcome
  • Meeting key support staff, teachers and your fellow classmates
  • Learning about academic procedures
  • Introduction to essential IT tools
  • Walking tour around campus
  • Obtaining your ID student card
  • Discovering the support services available to you and how to access help
  • Learning about skills for academic success
  • Receiving your timetable
