Webster Centre for Infectious Diseases' members, Professor Vernon Ward, Dean of School of Biomedical Sciences, and Professor Kurt Krause, Department of Biochemistry, University of Otago, NZ were awarded MBIE 2017 funding. Professor Ward and Professor Krause (associate investigator) were awarded $927,440 for their Smart Idea Project to target unique virus proteins with small molecule inhibitors.
