Dr Ruth Toumu'a
Kia ora and warm greetings to you. I am the Student Learning Development adviser for the Wellington campus.
It's my pleasure to offer you individualised support in learning skills development as you journey through your postgraduate studies at UOW. I do this mostly through providing one-to-one or small group consultations in person, by email or by video/voice call. I also facilitate workshops designed to help you develop higher education learning and literacy skills at any level – including those relating specifically to thesis writing.
My background is in Applied Linguistics and Higher Education, I’m also TESOL trained, have over 10 years’ experience as learning adviser and supervisor, and am a useful 'critical friend'!
I look forward to supporting you in your development as an independent, motivated, and successful learner!
