Dr Ruth Toumu'a
Kia ora and warm greetings to you. I am the Student Learning Development adviser for the Wellington campus.
It's my pleasure to offer you individualised support in learning skills development as you journey through your postgraduate studies at UOW. I do this mostly through providing one-to-one or small group consultations in person, by email or by video/voice call. I also facilitate workshops designed to help you develop higher education learning and literacy skills at any level – including those relating specifically to thesis writing.
My background is in Applied Linguistics and Higher Education, I’m also TESOL trained, have over 10 years’ experience as learning adviser and supervisor, and am a useful 'critical friend'!
I look forward to supporting you in your development as an independent, motivated, and successful learner!
Room F34 in the Education Unit on Level F in the Link building.
To book a consultation, please email me or phone. It’s best to book a week or two ahead, and please provide your name, ID, specify that you require an appointment with Ruth on the Wellington campus, and briefly describe what you’d like us to focus on in our consultation.
