The University of Otago runs a combined Occupational Medicine Continuing Medical Education (CME) and distance teaching programme from Dubai in collaboration with Harvard Medical School Dubai Center. This programme is available through the Otago Distance Teaching programme and students are enrolled worldwide. The Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine is a stand alone qualification used as a qualifying entry point for admission to Fellowship of Occupational Medicine training for specialist training in many countries around the world. Advanced trainers normally go on to complete the Masters in Health Science (Occupational Medicine) degree or the Masters in Aviation Medicine degree depending on their professional development needs.
This course is a two year part time distance taught course and will provide all the core competencies in occupational medicine required for Fellowship training programmes. Papers for the Diploma are offered in a two yearly cycle and enrolment can start at any point during the course. Two papers for the Diploma offered in any one academic and calendar year in order to make up the 120 points required.
