Role

I am a Registered Nurse and Senior Research Fellow with the Wellington Asthma Research Group. Currently I am a co-investigator in the Maternal Probiotic Study (Studies of Probiotics and Allergic Disease). This is a randomized controlled trial clinical trial investigating the use of probiotics to prevent the development of allergic disease in infants, and reduce gestational diabetes and bacterial vaginal infections in pregnant women.

Research expertise and interest

My current research interest is in the field of allergic disease.

In the past four years I have worked on a series of quantitative studies related to both the prevention and treatment of allergic disease (eczema, hay fever and asthma).

Previous to this work my research interest and experience was in the area of oncology/palliative care using qualitative approaches to research.
