Professor Tony Dowell from the Department of Primary Health Care & General Practice, University of Otago, Wellington was recently interviewed as part of the RNZ Insight Programme, entitled "NZ's Mental Health at Breaking Point?". Initially aired on Sunday 10 September, the programme explored the increased pressure on mental health issues within General Practice.
"Mental health work is rewarding, but in many ways it's also very challenging. There is an emotional stress and burnout which comes with working in mental health." he said.
