The Art of Palliative Medicine - 2018 Semester 2

A Life Well Lived

I chose to draw about the woman and her life, I began with a pink ribbon sketch – which represented the medical illness that she was suffering. I then decided to illustrate various points in her life that were important to her, such as moving to New Zealand and meeting her husband. The idea with my creative piece was to convey her life as a whole, I decided to not include anything that would represent her experience with her illness, such as how it affects her mentally, because we did not talk about it too much. I felt it was more important to show who she was a person and show her life, as this was important to her.

Our academic building is temporarily closed for seismic reasons but our top class teaching, studying and research programmes remain in full swing.
