Research Fellow; BODE3
Kendra is a Research Fellow within the Burden of Disease Epidemiology, Equity and Cost-Effectiveness Programme (BODE3).
She worked several years for New Zealand’s Ministry of Health, providing fit for purpose health information and advice to a variety of customers, including academics and the media. She had many responsibilities involving technical, research and analytical components. She was the big data lead for Statistics New Zealand’s Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) and a key advisor on mental health and diabetes information, managing the Virtual Diabetes Register algorithm. Kendra has good knowledge of health data and supported a number of national and international research projects.
Kendra completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours at the University of Waikato and is currently investigating further research topics within the Department of Public Health. Within BODE3, she is contributing to epidemiological and economic simulation models of intervention impact and supporting the use of the administrative health data.
