Research Interests and Activities

Louise has worked in the health sector for most of her working life (mostly at the Ministry of Health) with a focus on public health as well as mental health. She has a masters in law, specialising in international law. Interests include public policy, public health, law, international/global health, and public health ethics. In public health Louise has focused primarily on the law and ethics of communicable disease, pandemic and emergency issues; in addition to noncommunicable disease challenges arising from tobacco and alcohol, all of which have international and globalised dimensions. Radiation law, as well as the law and ethics of gambling, are developing interests.
