Research Interests and Activities
Matire Harwood (Ngā Puhi) is a General Practioner and Māori health researcher.
She is involved in a number of research projects including Unequal Treatment: The Role of Health Services and a study that aims to improve stroke recovery for Māori and their whānau. She also provides commentary for the Māori Health Research Review, an e journal for providers and researchers.
Other work interests include Māori and ethics, asthma management, and the protection of the environment with her role in Ngā Kaihautu Tikanga Taiao.
