Research Interests and Activities

Anna joined the University of Otago as a Research Fellow in 2014 to work on the Burden of Disease Epidemiology, Equity and Cost-Effectiveness Programme (BODE³). Anna's main role in the programme is to undertake data linkage analysis of datasets from the national health data collections. Her research interests include data linkage, epidemiology, data visualisation, and mental health and addiction.

Prior to working for the University of Otago, Anna worked at the Ministry of Health as a Senior Advisor (Epidemiology) with a focus on data linkage (developing the Ministry’s linkage system known as Health Tracker) and use of the national health data collections. Her interest in mental health and addiction developed through her undergraduate and masters degrees in psychology at the University of Otago in Dunedin and through work at the Mental Health Commission.
