Associate Professor Elizabeth Dennett, Department of Surgery and Anaesthesia

Liz DennettMBChB, MmedSci, MapplMgt, FRACS, FASCRS

I completed my undergraduate medical degree at Otago University. This was followed by specialist training (general surgery / colorectal surgery) in New Zealand and Australia. Since returning to New Zealand I have completed degrees in clinical epidemiology and healthcare management. My research focuses on biomarkers in predicting prognosis and response to adjuvant therapies in colorectal cancer and quality and safety research within the health system. I have strong links with the Department of Public Health at the University of Otago, Wellington as I have been involved in a number of projects researching the impact of ethnicity and comorbidity on colorectal cancer outcomes.
