Welcome to the Summer 2020 edition of He Kete Kōrero, with the latest news from the Wellington campus.

In this issue we acknowledge the contribution made by our staff to the health and well-being of Aotearoa during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their wide ranging contributions include providing policy advice, communicating to the public, developing new clinical guidelines to cope with the changing healthcare environment and providing leadership in hospitals and primary care.

We celebrate the success of researchers who have been awarded grants from external funding bodies, with the Wellington campus this year achieving record annual research income.

We share our delight in being able to reconnect with old friends and meet new acquaintances at our Wellington Alumni Event, and we applaud the academic staff who have been promoted to Professor and Associate Professor.

With 2021 just around the corner we look forward to events taking place in the New Year, including the Public Health Summer School, which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Our academic building is temporarily closed for seismic reasons but our top class teaching, studying and research programmes remain in full swing.
