Welcome to the Autumn 2021 edition of He Kete Kōrero with the latest news from the Wellington campus.

In this issue we welcome new and returning students back for the 2021 academic year and acknowledge the many and varied contributions they make to campus life. We are pleased to see an increase in the number of Māori and Pacific students joining us each year as this is vital if we are to produce the health workforce Aotearoa needs.

We celebrate the achievements of our staff, who have been recognised nationally and internationally for their work in diverse fields ranging from reducing the harm from tobacco to work on healthy housing, mental health and COVID-19.

And we invite staff and students to join together on Monday mornings for waiata and karakia to help us start the week with lifted spirits and a feeling of unity.

Our academic building is temporarily closed for seismic reasons but our top class teaching, studying and research programmes remain in full swing.
