This project can support a Masters or PhD student to develop a stroke electronic decision support tool for GPs. We have previously developed and launched a stroke/TIA tool that has proven effective. We now wish to expand the scope of this tool to include primary prevention and upgrade the algorithm to incorporate state of the art methodology and decision making aids. Once the tool is developed it will undergo an observational pilot evaluation and then a cluster randomised controlled trial. The latter will only be possible to achieve for a full PhD candidate, a Master's candidate will have the opportunity to do a more in depth observational study.
