‘Stamps’ in Pamaero Library ‘Railway Stamps’ Scrapbook, [1947].

Ernie Webber’s collecting interests in railways extended to stamps issued that depict trains, rail-related activities, or the broader subject of transportation (witness the Chinese junks top left). He compiled a number of scrapbooks full of stamps that were issued from countries such as Liberia, Hungary, Italy, Japan, China, and of course New Zealand. Here among Swiss, Polish, Canadian, and American samples is a self-addressed envelope to himself, which he ‘posted on train Wellington Ry’.
