Vitrine: Société Franco-Belge de Matériel de Chemins de Fer, et al.

This small selection of books from Webber’s collection does not reveal the true scope and size of his collection; it is vast, at about 40 metres. Aside from books on Australian and Swiss rail systems, and the ever-present scrapbooks, there are technical publications which detail wheel arrangements (2-6-2 or 4-6-2, etc), gauge measurements, heating surfaces and capacities, total weight, axle loads, and so on. Of particular note is the Société Franco-Belge de Matériel de Chemins de Fer, a superb two volume edition that details the workmanship involved in locomotives and carriages produced by that firm.
