David Jones, Anathémata.

The painter David Jones began to write after a nervous breakdown in 1932 and, at the same time, began to make lettered inscriptions. In his work Anathémata, his early Christian letterforms with their irregularities not only locate the poem in the distant past but also introduce its religious content.
