Straight Jackets: the Art of the Book Jacket University of Otago Straight Jackets: the art of the book jacket

A psychological thriller told in journal form in a striking pictorial dust jacket: a black-and-white drawing of a man's face with two small female faces in color in lieu of eyes. The Putnam edition - like this British edition has Morse's strange, somewhat disturbing work. Morse was the pseudonym of Salomon Van Abbe (1883-1955) who also designed jackets under S. Abbey.
