Alexander Monro (primus), Manuscript case notes from works by Bellinger, Verduc, Keil, Boerhaave, etc. 1717.This series of précis and case notes dating from 1717 to 1735 is considered a 'commonplace' book, and is written in Primus' own hand in a mixture of Latin and English. It shows himto be a curious, diligent student, who read copiously and took detailed notes. Of note are the extensive passages from Boerhaave's lectures in Chemistry and the Theory and Practice of Medicine, presumably written while in Leiden in 1718, and those written while attending William Cheselden's anatomical demonstrations. Monro also comments on eight of his own dissections and anatomical observations done during his stay in London from 1717 to 1718.
