The cover and title of Donald Hann’s publication does not convey an impression of a sporting book. Yet Michiko is about Ross ‘Boyo’ Hughson, an Australian boxer who travels to Japan to defend his middle-weight championship crown. Hann, whose real name was Ken Macaulay, adds zest to the story by creating the inevitable love-triangle. It was a popular Horwitz title.
