Amazing Stories, the first American science fiction magazine, was published in 1926. Another popular sci-fi title was The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, founded in 1949. Isaac Asimov wrote for F&SF without a break from November 1959 to February 1992. His Flies appears in this issue, which was actually printed in Sydney. And what sci-fi reader could resist the title Old Spacemen Never Die in Popular Science Fiction, another Sydney-based venture, edited by Ronald Forster and offering US-written stories to Australian readers.
