Nick Ascroft – 2003

Horton hatches Typescript

In 2003, Nick Ascroft was given a one semester 'mini-Burns' and during that time he worked on poems for his yet-to-be-published third collection, Anonymous Phenomena, and the draft of a novel. The unpublished 'Horton hatches an Abortion' was written during 2003 and began life as a series of in-jokes and witty remarks with Ascroft's girlfriend, revolving around a comic-strip character he had invented called Bernard. Ascroft is currently living and writing in Oxford.
