About Us
Ruth Chapman is the University Mediator. You can make an appointment to see her by phoning 479 5679 or by emailing mediation@otago.ac.nz. Ruth is in her office from Wednesday afternoon until the end of Friday. If you contact her when she’s out she will return your message as soon as possible.
Ruth has a background in education, staff training and industrial relations. She is an Otago graduate with dispute resolution qualifications from Massey University and she’s passionate about helping people to resolve conflict.
The mediator’s office is on the Dunedin Campus, at the College of Education, Auditorium Building, 143 Union St, East.
Ethical Behaviour Network
The Ethical Behaviour Network is a group of Otago staff and students who are trained to provide a first point of contact for anyone who has concerns. Those concerns might be about the behaviour of others or they may be about your working or study environment or the college you are living in. The members of the contact network won’t tell you what to do but they will provide a safe place for you to talk through your concerns and they will help you identify options.
