Mark received his Ph.D. from the
University of Colorado (supervised by Robert Pasnau). His research
focuses on early modern epistemology. His interests in epistemology
regard belief control, epistemic or doxastic obligations, rationality,
testimony, evidence, and the nature and status of faith. Regarding
history, he is especially interested in Locke and Descartes, as well
as some of their predecessors (especially Aquinas) and successors
(especially Reid). He is also interested in environmental philosophy.
His work has appeared in Synthese, the British Journal for the History
of Philosophy, Archiv für Geschichte der Philosophie, Res
Philosophica and Religious Studies, among others. Mark also serves as
the editorial assistant for the annual publication, Oxford Studies in
Medieval Philosophy.
