Birth, death and marriage records

Historic birth, death and marriage records, Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) may be of assistance if you know the name of the mother or the child.

Note: Not all birth, death or marriage records are available on this database. If you are looking for a birth record from the 1940s you will have to write to the Department of Internal Affairs to obtain a copy.

Newspaper database: WWII

Papers Past, is a free collection of searchable digitised New Zealand newspapers dating from the nineteenth century. A number of newspapers on the site cover the era of World War II.
