Carrington College sub-wardens team sitting and standing in a garden courtyard

Our Sub-Warden team are a valuable resource regarding Carrington and student life. Every “Flouse” (floor/house) has a designated sub-warden; you will meet your sub-warden on your first day at Carrington, and they will serve as the first point of contact for the questions you're sure to have as you adjust to collegiate and university life.

We encourage you to get to know the sub-wardens! They have all been first-year residents themselves and are still studying. The sub-wardens will be working hard to get to know you, too!

You will see the sub-warden team all over Carrington. They manage the day-to day aspects of college life, complete rostered evening and weekend duties, provide pastoral care support, distribute late dinners, and oversee the weekly linen change.

One of the main times you'll come across the sub-wardens will be on their nightly rounds through the Flouses and common spaces. Rounds serve a number functions, including community building, checking for health and safety risks around the buildings and grounds, and ensuring the atmosphere is conducive to sleep and study.

When not on rounds or assisting residents, the Duty Sub-Wardens will be present in the dining room over meal times (evenings/weekends), or at Reception in Linton House. To reach the Duty Sub-Wardens, Security or Reception staff, please ring
