International teaching and industry experience

Dr Luo worked as Senior Teaching Fellow in Ecnomics in International Business of Suzhou, Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University. She worked as lecturer in Sino-French Institution, Heilongjiang University and also taught in Sino-Russia College of Heilongjiang University. She had experience in teaching different economic related modules such as Statistics, Issue of Economic Policy, Economics for Business and Market and Chinese Economics. She also gave seminors in SKEMA Suzhou to their international programs.

Reason she enjoys teaching in the Otago MBA programme

I find it rewarding to work with MBA students who are motivated to learn and apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences bring comprehensive perspectives to the classroom, which lead to lively and engaging discussions.Teaching in the MBA programme allows me to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application. I enjoy helping students understand how economic concepts and models can be used to solve real-world business problems, and seeing them apply these insights to their own work.

What global perspective is reflected in your course/teaching?

In my Macroeconomics course, I emphasize the importance of understanding the global economy and its impact on local industries. We discuss topics such as international trade, exchange rates, and monetary policy. I also encourage students to consider the ethical and social dimensions of economic decision-making, and to think critically about the implications of different policies and practices for people and communities around the world.
