Established in 1979 by a bequest from the late Ida G White, this scholarship shall be awarded to a candidate who has shown exceptional ability or promise in singing or a stringed instrument who is pursuing the study of music outside New Zealand.
Applicants must:
- have graduated from the University of Otago with a 3- or 4‑year performance degree, studying voice, violin, or cello
- have been accepted into a full-time course of study at a leading music college or university overseas
- be living overseas while studying
