Research Interests and Activities

Ken has an extensive research background in the physical sciences (astrophysics, remote sensing, and biostatistics) but has more recently moved his focus to epidemiological and public health research. He is particularly interested in ethnic and socio-economic inequalities in health, the public dissemination of research results, and the development and application of biostatistical methods in epidemiological research.

Ken is a biostatistician on the SoFIE-Health project and Principal Investigator on the Pacific Island Mortality Project. He is also involved in improving research policy and funding and is a council member of the New Zealand Association of Scientists.
