Semester 1, 2018: New International Student Enrolment/Orientation Seminars
All new incoming international students, except PhD students, must register for a New International Student Enrolment & Orientation Seminar before they arrive on campus. Seminar registration will be available here from mid-January 2018. Please note that if you are studying at Otago through one of the following Institutes for Study Abroad you do not need to book a seminar: IFSA Butler, Arcadia, ISA, TEAN, BCA, API. Students studying through these groups will be advised of the time and location of their special group welcome.
Please bring your passport with you to the Enrolment & Orientation Seminar, and if you have an electronic visa please also bring a paper copy of that visa.
At the seminar you will meet International Office staff and receive important information about completing your University of Otago enrolment.
Following the seminar you should be able to complete your 'Declaration', the final step of enrolment, in eVision. Twenty-four hours after completing your declaration you can obtain your Student ID card and will then have access to University services.
Staff will be available to assist you with any questions you may have.
Information sessions for new international students arriving throughout the year
If you are a new international PhD or Masters by thesis student, please check in at the International Office Reception upon your arrival. Bring your passport and visa with you.
An appointment will be arranged for you to meet with a member of the International Student Support Team who will cover arrival information, assist with completing your enrolment, and answer any questions you may have at that time. You will have an opportunity to sign up for the next PhD/Master by Thesis Welcome session. These sessions are run twice a month.
